Gdansk passenger ferry terminal to city centre

written by Maciek Bogdanski

If you come to Gdansk by ferry or a cruise ship, you are most likely going to moor in Polferries Passenger Terminal in Gdansk Westerplatte. Although it is outside the city centre, Westerplatte itself is an interesting place and is frequently visited both by tourists and locals. Read our article on Westerplatte to get some information about this place if you have some time to stay here. If not, this is how to get to city centre.

By bus

If you come on a cruise ship, you will probably have transport arranged. If not, or if you want to visit the city on your own, it is good to know that the ferry terminal is served by three bus lines: 106, 138 and 606. To get to the bus stop, after leaving the ferry, go straight to the first crossroads, and turn right. It might not be visible at first, but you’ll get there after 50 meters.

106 bus line leaves every 60-90 minutes (less frequently on weekends), and goes straight to the city centre. It takes about 30 minutes to get there.

Bus 138 runs only in peak hours and in the evening. It goes a bit around and the journey lasts about 35 minutes. On weekends, this line runs only 4 times/day.

Bus 606 runs twice an hour between 10 am and 7 pm, and three times per hour on weekends. This line is the fastest, it takes only 15 minuter to get from Westerplatte to city centre.

There is a special bus lane when approaching Gdansk city centre, although there are some bottlenecks. Consider leaving the bus at Zabi Kruk bus stop to avoid traffic jams.

You will find the timetable on the Jakdojade website.
